"Kojima Obi" was born in 2017, using modern materials and contemporary designs.

Obi were originally thin, cord-like sashes. In the mid-Edo period, as wars ceased and people's lives became stable, clothing culture blossomed.
Obi became longer and wider than in the past, and patterns were woven into them, transforming them into beautiful crafts.
People began to enjoy the colors and patterns of the obi and the beauty of their tied forms.
In Japan, the custom of giving "long items" to loved ones, wishing for longevity and happiness, is still passed down today.

The "Kojima Obi Series" is characterized by its use of materials that have never been used for obi before.
It combines multiple textiles that were originally manufactured for purposes other than obi. Tatami-beri is a fabric that decorates the edges of traditional Japanese floor mats.
Sanada-himo is the narrowest and oldest woven fabric in Japan.
And denim is loved around the world.
All of these materials are easy to handle, allowing for home washing and ironing. These are representative textiles of Kurashiki.
Unique materials, stylish designs, ample length, and the way they are tied create a distinctive world view. We propose a modern fashion style that incorporates Japanese elements while maintaining the dignity of ethnic costumes.

・This obi is made from denim and tatami-beri.
・It was designed as a "showcase" half-width obi for adults.
・It is reversible, making it easy to match with both formal soft kimonos and casual kimonos like Tsumugi.
・The materials have been improved for easy handling, allowing for home washing and ironing.
・All materials are from Kojima City, the "city of textiles," and sewing is also Made in KOJIMA.

【Product Features】
・The denim fabric is from "Kojima, the birthplace of domestic jeans," and is characterized by its excellent twill lines, pleasant feel, and durability.
・While most denim is 100% cotton, this product uses a silk-blend fabric.
・It can be hand-washed at home and is resistant to water, so there's no need to worry if it gets wet in the rain.
・It has a lustrous, soft, and luxurious texture.

・Tatami-beri has an approximately 80% share of the national production in Kojima City, Kurashiki. It is a traditional industry that has continued for about 150 years.

【Precautions】
・This product can be hand-washed.
・Do not use a washing machine or dryer. As it is a long product, it may deform due to rotation.
・Avoid using bleach when washing.
・If left wet for a long time, the color may fade. After washing, reshape and dry immediately in the shade.
・For dark-colored items, it is recommended to wash them separately from white items.
・When new, some color transfer may occur due to sweat, etc., so please be careful.
・When ironing, use a pressing cloth and a low to medium temperature.
