【A Message from the Owner】
Thank you for visiting our website among many others.
In Kojima, Kurashiki City, cotton has been cultivated for about 400 years, and it is now known as "the town of textiles."
Today, it is a famous town producing various textiles such as denim, tatami borders, and Sanada-himo (braided cords).
Especially famous is its denim.
In Kojima, many new types of denim are produced that completely change the traditional image of workwear.
The materials also vary, including not only cotton but also silk denim, wool denim, and nylon denim.
Among these, this particular denim is made from a blended yarn of cotton and linen.
◆What is blended yarn?
It refers to yarn spun by combining multiple types of different fibers.
Different fibers have different properties. Blended fibers, so to speak, are fibers created through spinning technology to make our lives more comfortable.
For blended fabrics woven with blended yarn, the most common combination is natural fibers and chemical fibers.
However, this fabric is made from "cotton and linen," both of which are natural fibers.
It is a fabric that maximizes the good qualities of these body-friendly fibers.
However, because it contains linen, it may wrinkle while being worn.
We hope you can enjoy this as a characteristic of natural materials, suitable for summer.
We sincerely hope that you will enjoy a cool and refreshing Japanese attire lifestyle by wearing kimonos made from denim fabrics tailored to the season.
