Noe is a workwear jacket (samue) made from elegant and dignified silk denim fabric.
We created it in response to the desire to "live surrounded by quality items" even when relaxing at home.
The sleeves have an elegant, gently curved shape.
We call this "tsubo-sode" (pot sleeves).
While tubular sleeves are for "work" attire, the Noe, with its slightly flowing sleeves (tamoto), exudes a relaxed atmosphere.
Wrap yourself in Noe and enjoy a moment of relaxation while gazing at the plants in your garden.

【A Greeting from the Shop Owner】
Thank you for visiting our site among many others.
Some of you may have a strong image of denim as workwear, characterized by being "100% cotton, thick, and prone to color fading."
However, Kurashiki Kojima denim today is much more than that.
Over a long period, it has continuously evolved into a textile suited to the Japanese climate and comfortable for the Japanese physique.
In this process, "silk denim" was born, incorporating "silk," a traditional Japanese industry.
I believe this silk denim is the "denim most suited for traditional Japanese clothing."
Silk denim fabric uses cotton for the warp and silk for the weft.
This fabric has three major characteristics:
1. Cotton warp
2. Silk weft
3. Dyeing
First, regarding 1:
Usually, a single, thick cotton thread is used for the warp in denim.
However, this fabric uses high-quality threads made from three twisted ultrafine warp threads.
The purpose of this is that:
By combining thin threads, the thread itself emits a luster, gives thickness to the fabric, and creates suppleness.
However, creating high-quality ultrafine threads requires considerably more preparation than regular threads.
Normally, this method of production is not used.
Naturally, it also incurs higher costs.
Preparing the warp threads for weaving is a laborious process.
Since it further requires the processes of twisting thin threads and dyeing the threads, honestly, it is a thread that cannot be easily produced.
Next, regarding 2, the weft thread:
"Using silk for the weft thread"
This inherently increases the difficulty of weaving.
A plant-based fiber for the warp and an animal-based fiber for the weft.
The materials are completely different.
Moreover, for high-density fabrics, the difficulty further increases.
Since the luster is a characteristic of this silk denim fabric, it is essential to weave it beautifully.
Therefore, it must be woven carefully and slowly.
If the loom is out of adjustment, defects become noticeable, and adjusting it is not something just anyone can do. Rectification is the work of skilled artisans.
To maintain a certain level of quality, many years of weaving expertise and skilled artisans familiar with the settings are required.
Regarding 3, dyeing:
When it comes to denim, "indigo dye" comes to mind.
However, problems with color fading and transfer are unavoidable.
Therefore, we developed a reactive dye for thread dyeing that maintains the look and feel of denim without these issues, and brought it to market.
For the ink color, sulfide dyes are used.
By encountering this fabric,
・It can be washed at home.
・Even though it's silk, it can be ironed.
A high-quality, easy-to-care-for kimono was born.
We sincerely hope that this kimono will allow you to enjoy your Japanese-style life even more.
