Kurashiki Jazz Street: Appearing on Posters in Kimono

17th Kurashiki Jazz Street

The "Kurashiki Jazz Street" began in December 2009.

It's truly a "jazz festival" where you can enjoy live jazz performances up close, set against the historical townscapes and traditional houses of the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter.

Over two days, live performances by different artists are held "simultaneously" at numerous small venues within the Bikan Historical Quarter, including traditional houses, shops, temples, and ateliers.

This year marks its 17th iteration, and it has continued without interruption even when other music events faced difficult circumstances due to the West Japan floods and the COVID-19 pandemic.

This kimono and obi perfectly complement Kurashiki's charming townscape.

The "Kojima Obi," as its name suggests, is made by combining textiles from Kojima, Kurashiki City.
The "silk denim kimono" is also made by a denim company in Kojima.

This traditional Japanese attire originates from Kurashiki.
It is a kimono made from textiles born in Kurashiki.

"Maybe jazz in a kimono sometimes..."
It is hoped that by seeing this poster, more and more customers will visit, dressed in wonderful attire that suits the streets of Kurashiki.

KIMONO Terrasse will continue to contribute to events in its hometown of Kurashiki City and in Kurashiki with kimonos and obis.
