・A top-tier denim fabric made by twisting three fine cotton threads together for the warp, and using high-quality silk thread for the weft.
・A twill-woven fabric that fully retains the distinctive look of denim.
・The fabric has an overall sheen, with a translucent, luminous color that is one of its key attractions.

~ Reikousho ~
・This refers to the dynamic calligraphy applied to the Cotton and Silk Twill surface.
・The calligrapher Reikou writes the characters directly onto the obi using gold and silver ink.

・Every piece is one of a kind.

【A Message from the Shop Owner】
Thank you very much for choosing to visit our site among the many others available.
Kojima denim has, over a long period of time, blended into Japan's climate and continued to evolve so as to feel comfortable on the Japanese body.
From this evolution came a fabric called "Cotton and Silk Twill" — have you heard of it before?

When people hear the word "denim," many still picture workwear — "100% cotton, thick, prone to fading."
But this Cotton and Silk Twill fabric completely overturns that traditional image of denim.
The warp is made by twisting together three extremely fine cotton threads, while the weft is made from carefully selected silk thread.
It combines the durability of cotton with the softness of silk, and its sheen is so refined it could easily be mistaken for 100% silk.
What's more, despite containing silk, it can still be hand-washed and holds up well even in the rain.
I believe this Cotton and Silk Twill is the denim best suited to traditional Japanese dress.

Using this Cotton and Silk Twill, along with other carefully selected Kojima textiles, we create original kimono, obi, and wa-sou accessories.
《 Kimono Features 》
~ You Can Add a Pattern ~
Our kimono are made to order, and after tailoring, our original patterns can be added directly onto them.
Kojima denim is mostly plain (solid color), and nearly all of the fabrics we select as "suitable for kimono," aside from Cotton and Silk Twill, are also plain.
If these were simply tailored as-is, every kimono would end up looking almost identical, like a uniform.
That's why, after the kimono is fully tailored, we add a pattern directly onto it, creating a "one-of-a-kind, custom-made piece" tailored to each customer's preference.
One such pattern is the "Reikousho Pattern."

●Reikousho ~ Gold and Silver Ink Calligraphy Pattern ~
Asada Reikou, a calligrapher based in Osaka, writes the calligraphy directly onto the kimono using gold and silver ink.
Master Reikou developed his own original calligraphy style, "Rousaisho®," and is active both in Japan and abroad.

Devoted to "expressing Japanese culture through calligraphy," Master Reikou has said that, during a period of rigorous training, he came to realize one day that he was not "writing" the characters himself, but rather being "made to write" them.
Since then, he has continued to pursue his calling: "bringing people energy and vitality through calligraphy."

"When I pick up the brush and stand before what I'm about to create, the characters come down to me."
The works born from this process have blossomed through Master Reikou's original calligraphy style, "Rousaisho®." He has dedicated works to temples and shrines, held solo exhibitions, received numerous awards, and built a devoted following both in Japan and abroad as one of the country's notable calligraphers.
※Because "Rousaisho®" is vulnerable to water, it cannot be used on kimono or obi.
For this reason, our products feature calligraphy done in gold and silver ink instead.

Depending on each customer's wishes, we can add Master Reikou's calligraphy not only to kimono, but also to obi, coats, and any of our other products.
Together with Master Reikou, we search for the character best suited to you, and by inscribing it, the kimono is completed.
We hope you'll enjoy experiencing our original method of "custom tailoring" and the resulting kimono.
